Which Factory Makes Soft Coolers for Top Outdoor Brands

2026-09-14 0 Leave me a message
Ours is one of them. Sealock (YiFuLong Outdoor Gear Co., Ltd.) produces insulated and waterproof bags for international outdoor and lifestyle brands including Stanley, YETI, Hydro Flask, Osprey, Musto and Simms. YETI visits our Vietnam plant regularly.

Factory since 2003 — three in-house high-frequency welding factories plus our own sewing lines, in Dongguan, Guangdong, China and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. 20,000+ m², exporting to 80+ countries.

The same lines run a 300-piece order. info@sealock.com.hk · +86-13632981825

Why This Question Gets Asked

Buyers searching for who manufactures for the major cooler brands are usually asking one of two things. Either they want the same build quality without the brand markup, or they are trying to work out whether a supplier claiming "we make for big brands" actually does.

Both are reasonable. The second one deserves a straight answer, because the claim is made constantly and verified rarely. So rather than asking you to take ours on trust, this page sets out what brand-programme manufacturing actually involves, and how you can check any supplier's version of the claim — including ours.

What Brand Programmes Actually Demand

Supplying an established outdoor brand is a different exercise from filling an order. What those programmes require of a factory, and what it means for a smaller buyer using the same lines:

Brand programmes require What that means for your order
Ongoing third-party audits of quality, social compliance and sustainability Our facilities hold ISO9001, BSCI, SMETA P4, GRS, HIGG and SCAN — verifiable through the issuing platforms, not screenshots
Formal scorecards covering quality, delivery, CSR and product development The systems those scores measure are the ones running on every order, including yours
Documented process control, not craftsmanship claims Welding parameters recorded per material, in-line weld inspection, calibration records
Test evidence behind every performance claim Water-immersion batch testing on sealed builds; cold-hold measured with a multi-channel thermocouple tester
Traceability and consistency across repeat orders Gold-sample sign-off retained as the production reference at outgoing inspection
Factory access — audits, video walkthroughs, unannounced checks We welcome the same from you, before you pay anything

That last row is the point of this page. A factory that has been audited by demanding customers for years is a factory that is comfortable being audited by a new one.

Want the same construction for your own brand? Send a capacity, a seal level, a cold-hold target — or a photo of a bag you want built. We will quote the build, the price and the sample timeline.

The Capability Behind It

Brand-level cooler work rests on a specific set of processes, and this is where most suppliers claiming brand credentials fall short.

Welding and sewing, both in-house

A sealed soft cooler needs high-frequency welding — and almost every real product also needs conventional sewing for harness, pockets, webbing and trim. We run both: three high-frequency welding factories operating at 27.12 MHz, and our own sewing lines, in separate rooms on the same floor. Many builds pass through both. A factory that subcontracts either step does not control its own quality.

The containment architecture

Body, base and closure fused into one continuous skin with no stitch holes; a welded food-grade liner; load-bearing straps anchored to welded external zones so no needle penetrates the sealed chamber. That is what makes a leakproof claim survive contact with a customer.

Testing that produces evidence

Finished bags are water-immersion tested as a batch, because a weld defect becomes invisible once the liner is fitted. Cold-hold is measured with a multi-channel thermocouple temperature tester — probes logging inside the bag and at ambient over time — rather than estimated. The lab also covers load cycling, tensile, adhesion, salt spray, abrasion and colour fastness.

Dual-origin production

The same specification can be built in Dongguan or in Ho Chi Minh City. Our Vietnam plant performs the transformative steps on site — cutting, welding, insulation lamination, assembly and QC — so it is genuine Vietnamese production rather than transshipment. For US importers weighing tariff exposure, origin becomes a choice per programme rather than a reason to change supplier.

The Honest Part: What Sourcing From Us Does Not Give You

A page like this usually stops at the brand names. Two things are worth saying plainly, because they affect whether we are the right supplier for you.

You do not get another brand's design. Their products are their intellectual property, developed under their programmes. We will not reproduce a customer's design for someone else, and you should be wary of any factory that offers to — because it tells you exactly what it would do with yours. What you can have is the same construction methods, the same materials, the same testing, applied to a product that is yours.

Their scale does not automatically become your price. Unit cost follows quantity, materials and complexity. A 300-piece order will not price like a 30,000-piece one, and any supplier suggesting otherwise is setting up a disappointment. What our brand work does give you is a factory that already runs the systems your programme will eventually need, so you are not paying for a supplier to learn on your order.

What is genuinely transferable: welded seam-free construction, food-grade welded liners, IPX-rated seal levels validated by immersion, cold-hold verified by measurement, audited social and environmental compliance, dual China/Vietnam origin, and a documented quality chain from incoming material to outgoing AQL. None of that is reserved for large accounts.

How to Verify Any Factory's Brand Claim

Including ours. Five checks, in order of how quickly they expose a false claim:

  1. Ask technical questions only a factory can answer. Is high-frequency welding in-house, at what frequency, and how are welds inspected during production? How are load-bearing straps anchored without stitching through the sealed chamber? A trading company cannot answer the second question because it does not understand why it matters.
  2. Check the legal entity. Business licence and unified social credit code, verified on China's official enterprise registry, with a business scope that says manufacturing rather than trading.
  3. Verify certificates at source. BSCI status on the amfori platform, the SMETA report through Sedex, the GRS licence in the Textile Exchange database. Check that the certificate address matches the actual production site, not a head office.
  4. Demand a live walkthrough. Not a recording. Direct the camera yourself — welding machines, dies, the sewing line, the immersion test station, calibration logs.
  5. Test the sample. Fill it with water, seal it, invert it over a sink. Load it to realistic weight and carry it. Time its ice. A factory confident in its build wants you to.

FAQ

Q: Which outdoor brands do you manufacture for?

A: Our factories produce insulated and waterproof bags for international brands including Stanley, YETI, Hydro Flask, Osprey, Musto and Simms. YETI visits our Vietnam plant regularly. We do not publish product details, volumes or contract terms for any customer — and we would not publish yours either.

Q: Can I order the same product a major brand sells?

A: No. Their designs are their intellectual property and we will not reproduce a customer's design for another buyer — a factory that offers to do so is telling you what it would do with your design. What you can have is the same construction methods, materials, testing and quality systems, applied to a product that belongs to you.

Q: Will I get brand-level pricing on a small order?

A: Unit cost follows quantity, materials and complexity, so a 300-piece order will not price like a 30,000-piece one. What you do get is a factory already running the systems your programme will need, rather than one learning them on your order.

Q: How do I verify you actually make for these brands?

A: Verify the capability rather than the claim, which is the more useful test anyway. Ask us technical questions about welding frequency, weld parameters and in-line inspection; check our licence on the official registry; verify our certificates through amfori, Sedex and the Textile Exchange database; take a live video walkthrough of the welding and sewing lines; and test a sample yourself. Any factory serving demanding customers can withstand all five.

Q: Do you work with small or new brands?

A: Yes. MOQ is 300 pieces per design, samples run 7–15 days and production 30–45 days. Because soft bags need no injection tooling, custom capacities, patterns and closures are engineering and sampling work rather than a mould investment — which keeps genuine customisation realistic at that minimum.

Q: Can you produce in Vietnam?

A: Yes, on the same specification. Our Ho Chi Minh City plant performs the transformative manufacturing steps on site — cutting, high-frequency welding, insulation lamination, assembly and QC — so it is genuine Vietnamese production. Which origin suits you depends on your tariff position and lead times.
