What "Leakproof" Means on Our Bags

Most cooler bags sold as leakproof are sewn and lined, which means there is a row of needle holes down every seam. Tape covers them for a while, then ages, and melt-water finds the way out — usually at the bottom seam, where the ice weight and pooled water concentrate.

We build the containment chamber differently. The body, base and closure are fused by high-frequency welding at 27.12 MHz into one continuous skin with no stitch holes at all, and the food-grade liner is welded rather than stitched. Load-bearing straps and webbing are anchored to welded external zones, so no needle ever penetrates the sealed chamber. That is the difference between a bag that resists splashes and one that holds melt-water when it goes over on a car seat.

Then we prove it: finished bags are submerged in water as a batch test, because a weld defect becomes invisible once the liner is fitted and the bag assembled. Cold-hold is verified separately with a multi-channel thermocouple temperature tester — probes log temperature inside the bag and at ambient over time, so the hours we quote come from a measurement, not an estimate.

We state seal levels honestly: an IPX7 build is immersion-rated and sealed in any orientation, while a welded water-resistant day pack contains melt-water in normal upright use but is not submersible. If a supplier calls every bag "100% waterproof," ask what test that claim comes from.

Working Terms

How to Verify Us Before You Pay Anything

You should not take any of the above on trust. Here is how to check it, and we will support every step:

1. Verify the company. Ask for our business licence and unified social credit code, and check it on China's official enterprise registry. Confirm the business scope says manufacturing.
2. See the welding line. Ask for a live video walkthrough — not a recording. Direct the camera yourself: welding machines, dies, the sewing line, the immersion test station.
3. Verify the certificates. Ask us to share BSCI status on the amfori platform and the SMETA report via Sedex, and check our GRS licence in the Textile Exchange database.
4. Test the sample. Fill it with water, seal it, turn it upside down over a sink. Load it with ice and time it. We would rather you did.
5. Book an inspection. SGS, QIMA or your own inspector on our outgoing line, with the balance payment released only on a pass.

Q: Are you a factory or a trading company?

A: A factory. YiFuLong Outdoor Gear Co., Ltd. has manufactured insulated and waterproof bags since 2003, with three high-frequency welding factories and our own sewing lines across Dongguan, China and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Ask us any manufacturing question — welding frequency, weld parameters, how we inspect welds during production — and the answers come from the people running the lines.

Q: What is your MOQ?

A: 300 pieces per design, applied per size and colourway, and negotiable on custom programmes. Soft bags need no injection tooling, which is why the minimum is in the hundreds rather than the thousands. Starting with one design in one stock colourway keeps a first order small.

Q: How do you prove a bag is actually leakproof?

A: Finished bags are water-immersion tested as a batch, not just visually inspected, because a weld defect is invisible once the bag is lined and assembled. Every weld is also inspected in-line as it is made. We are happy for you to run your own test on the sample, and to have SGS, QIMA or your own inspector verify the run before shipping.

Q: Can you make a bag to a specific IPX rating?

A: Yes — IPX6, IPX7 or IPX8, engineered through the welded body, the closure type and the seam architecture, and validated by immersion testing before production. Tell us the rating you need to advertise and the conditions your customers will use it in.

Q: How long from order to shipment?

A: Samples in 7–15 days, then 30–45 days production after sample and deposit confirmation, FOB Guangdong. Add ocean freight and customs clearance to reach your warehouse. For seasonal ranges, work backwards from your on-shelf date — we will tell you honestly if a deadline does not fit.

Q: Can you produce in Vietnam instead of China?

A: Yes, on the same specification. Our Ho Chi Minh City plant performs the transformative manufacturing steps on site — cutting, high-frequency welding, insulation lamination, assembly and QC — so it is genuine Vietnamese production rather than transshipment. Which origin suits you depends on your tariff position and lead times.
