Barrel Shape with a Zip-Top Round Opening

Instead of a flat rectangular cooler, this one is a tall barrel that opens through a zip-around round top and a padded flip-up lid. The wide circular mouth lets you load cans, bottles and food straight down from above and reach the bottom easily, and it makes the interior quick to empty and wipe out at the end of the day. The upright barrel form takes up less floor space than a wide cooler, which is useful in a packed car boot, a boat or a crowded campsite.

How We Make and Test It

Each Barrel Insulated Cooler Backpack with Zip Top for Camping and Beach starts with cut laminated fabric, the foam insulation layer, the food-grade liner and a reinforced base, welded into the barrel body with the zip-top opening. We assemble the padded harness, sternum and waist straps and the front slip pocket. Before a batch ships, we run a leak-resistance and seam-integrity check on the liner and welded body, an ice-retention check to confirm cold-hold, and a pull-test on the straps, harness and base under load. The welded seams, the liner and the harness anchors are the areas we inspect hardest.
