Sealock manufactures the Insulated Backpack Cooler, model SL-I014, a 20-litre welded soft cooler carried on the back or over the shoulder. It measures 37 × 26.5 × 39.5 cm, weighs 2.35 kg empty, and runs a 3 cm closed-cell EPE insulation wall behind a seamless welded food-grade liner. The body is high-frequency welded in navy coated tarpaulin, the lid closes with a curved zipper across the top, and the front panel carries a mesh stash pocket, a webbing lash bar, a zip side pocket and a stainless bottle opener. Shoulder straps are padded and removable, and a shoulder strap converts the bag to single-strap carry.

At a Glance

  • 3 cm closed-cell EPE wall — a thick insulation layer, not a token one, giving up to 36 hours of usable cold.
  • Seamless welded food-grade liner — no stitched corners for melt-water, odour or bacteria to settle into.
  • Curved zip-top lid — opens wide across the top for loading cans, bottles and containers upright.
  • Backpack or shoulder carry — padded removable harness plus a shoulder strap.
  • Bottle opener, mesh pocket and lash bar — side opener, front stash mesh, zip side pocket and a webbing attachment bar.

Insulation and Welded Liner

The wall is 3 cm of closed-cell EPE foam. That figure is the one buyers should compare, because it is where cooler backpacks are quietly cheapened — a 1 cm wall looks identical from outside and loses its ice in half the time. Closed-cell also means the foam cannot wick: a split ice bag does not leave moisture inside the wall to breed odour over a season. Behind it sits a food-grade liner welded into a continuous bathtub, with the base and corners formed rather than sewn, so there is no stitch line anywhere for melt-water to seep through or for residue to collect in. Pre-chilled, packed at roughly two parts ice to one part contents and kept out of direct sun, SL-I014 holds usable cold for up to 36 hours. Every insulated product in the Sealock range runs a food-grade inner liner, whether welded TPU membrane, PEVA film or food-grade coated laminate, chosen by product class.

Zip-Top Lid and Loading

The lid is a formed panel closed by a curved zipper that runs across the top and down both shoulders of the bag, so the opening clears the full mouth rather than a narrow slot. Cans and bottles load upright, a food container goes in flat, and the contents stay where they were packed instead of being tipped through a small hole. The 20-litre interior takes roughly 24 standard cans with a working ice layer, or a day's food for two to three people. Welded and zipped, the cooler is leakproof against melt-water from inside and sheds heavy rain, spray and a hose-down from outside — it is a sealed cooler rather than a submersible dry bag, and we rate it accordingly.

Carry System

Shoulder straps are padded, contoured and removable, anchored to welded patches rather than stitched straight through the waterproof body. A separate adjustable shoulder strap clips on for single-strap carry — the mode most users default to on a short walk from the car — and a grab handle on the lid handles the lift into a boot or a boat. Loaded with 20 litres of ice and drinks the bag crosses 10 kg quickly, which is the whole argument for backpack carry over a tote on anything longer than a car park.

Front Panel Details

The front carries a flat mesh stash pocket for a towel, a map or wet items that should not go inside with the food; a webbing lash bar for clipping on gear; a zip side pocket for keys and a phone; and a stainless bottle opener riveted to a tab beside it, usable one-handed without unclipping anything. The logo on the front panel is applied as a high-solids silicone print, which is why it has a distinctly raised feel rather than sitting flat in the fabric — the same technique is available for customer branding, and it survives UV and abrasion far better than a standard flat screen print.

Printing & Logo Options

The sample shown carries a raised high-solids silicone print, which sits proud of the fabric and can be felt under the fingertip — a finish that reads as a brand mark rather than a decal and that holds up under UV and abrasion. Also available: silk-screen, heat-transfer, digital and UV printing, welded appliqué patches, embossed marks and woven labels. Welded tarpaulin takes large panel artwork well; confirm placement against the welds and the front-panel hardware at sample stage so nothing critical crosses a seam.

Where It Is Used

A sealed cooler for the days that start with a walk:

Beach Trips · Camping · Fishing · Boating and Kayaking · Hiking and Trailhead Picnics · Tailgating · Festivals · Job Sites · Grocery Runs · Road Trips

How We Make and Test It

SL-I014 is built from cut coated tarpaulin, 3 cm closed-cell EPE and the food-grade liner. The body panels and the liner are joined on a high-frequency welding line — fusing the coating layers into a homogeneous bond rather than perforating the fabric with needle holes — and sewing is used only at reinforced load points, strap anchors and webbing tabs, each bar-tacked and then covered by a welded patch so no stitch line sits on the sealed envelope. Sealock runs HF welding and professional sewing lines in the same building and uses each where it belongs. Incoming tarpaulin, foam, liner, zippers and hardware pass IQC; welding parameters and seam bonding strength are checked at intervals through the run under IPQC; every batch clears OQC before packing. The standing test suite covers load testing to 1,500-plus cycles, zipper fatigue to 3,000 cycles, tensile and bonding strength, salt spray, abrasion, colour fastness and colour difference, plus a heavy rain and water-jet test matched to this model's non-submersible rating. Cold-hold is logged on a multi-channel thermocouple rig with probes at the base, the mid-wall and under the lid, so the curve shows where cold is actually lost. Customer-witnessed inspection follows our published procedure — unboxing, vacuum extraction, a 24-hour static rest and air-leak determination — and third-party inspection through SGS or QIMA is available on request.

OEM / ODM and Full Custom Development

Sealock builds the SL-I014 for OEM and ODM cooler brands from an MOQ of 300 pcs, FOB Guangdong, with samples in 7–15 days and production in 30–45 days. Shell colour and material, insulation thickness and therefore the ice-retention target, liner specification, zipper grade, pocket and hardware layout, harness configuration and logo application are all open. Where a programme needs full immersion performance, the platform accepts a genuine airtight zipper and a raised welded collar. Ground-up development from a sketch, a competitor sample or a target spec is available with additional lead time for pattern and sampling. Production runs across our Guangdong facilities and our Ho Chi Minh City plant, giving buyers a choice of origin for tariff planning.

FAQ

How many cans does it hold?

About 24 standard 330 ml cans with a working ice layer. The published figure assumes a realistic ice ratio rather than a cans-only fill, because that is not how a cooler is used.

How thick is the insulation?

3 cm of closed-cell EPE. It is worth asking this of any cooler backpack — the number is invisible from the outside and is the single biggest driver of how long ice lasts.

Is it leakproof?

Zipped and upright, yes: the welded body and seamless liner hold melt-water inside and keep rain, spray and hose water out, verified by a heavy rain and water-jet test. It is not built for submersion; for that, specify the airtight zipper upgrade.

Can the straps come off?

Yes. The padded shoulder straps are removable and a separate adjustable shoulder strap is included, so the same bag works as a backpack or a single-strap carry.

What are the MOQ and lead times?

MOQ is 300 pcs, FOB Guangdong, samples in 7–15 days and production in 30–45 days. Logo customization is standard, including the raised silicone finish shown. Send your spec for a quote.
