30L Insulated Duffel Cooler Backpack

A 30L cooler that carries like a duffel and wears like a backpack — coated shell in khaki and black, insulated food-grade interior, YKK side-access zipper and a padded ventilated harness.

Sealock manufactures the 30L Insulated Duffel Cooler Backpack, model SL-E1320, a vertical duffel-profile cooler that carries on the back. It measures 33.5 × 20 × 52 cm, weighs 1.95 kg empty, and holds roughly 30 litres behind an EPE insulation layer and a food-grade liner. The shell is a coated technical fabric in khaki with black side panels, closed by a top flap on a metal slider buckle and opened for loading through a full-length YKK zipper down the side. Hardware is UTX throughout, and the back panel is a ventilated mesh harness with padded shoulder straps, a sternum strap and load-adjustment webbing.

At a Glance

  • Duffel shape, backpack carry — 30L vertical body with a padded, ventilated harness for long walk-ins.
  • Full-length YKK side zipper — load and unload from the side without unpacking from the top.
  • EPE insulation with food-grade liner — smooth, wipe-clean interior rated for direct food and ice contact.
  • UTX buckles and YKK zippers throughout — specified hardware, not unbranded substitutes.
  • Flap-and-buckle top with twin mesh lid pockets — fast access plus organisation for small items.

Duffel Body, Backpack Harness

SL-E1320 takes a duffel's squared body and stands it upright. The result is a cooler that packs like a bag — flat sides, square corners, containers sitting level instead of nested into a tapered sack — but that carries hands-free, which matters once 30 litres of food and ice crosses the 10 kg mark. Shoulder straps are contoured and padded, joined by a sternum strap and load-adjustment webbing so the mass can be pulled in against the back rather than hanging off the shoulders. The back panel is raised mesh with a central channel, so the air gap that keeps a carrier's back dry also slows heat transfer from the body into the insulated wall. Grab handles on the upper body let two people lift it into a boat or a truck bed, and a reflective strip on the back panel adds visibility for a dusk walk out.

Side-Access Zipper and Flap Closure

Two ways in. The top flap folds over the opening and locks down on a metal slider buckle, which is the fast route for dropping in a last item or pulling out a drink. The full-length YKK zipper running down the side panel is the loading route: it opens the body along its height so the bag can be packed lying down and then stood up, instead of everything being dropped through a single top hole and the bottom layer becoming unreachable. On a tall cooler that side access is the difference between a bag that stays organised through a trip and one that gets emptied onto the ground every time someone wants what is at the bottom. Inside the lid, two zip mesh pockets keep cutlery, wipes, keys or a flat gel pack separated from the main load.

Insulation and Interior

Behind the shell sits a closed-cell EPE insulation layer, and behind that a food-grade liner safe for direct contact with food, drinks and ice. Closed-cell foam does not wick, so a spill or a punctured ice bag does not leave moisture inside the wall to breed odour over a season. The liner is smooth-walled and light in colour, which makes residue visible and a wipe-down quick. Every insulated product in the Sealock range runs a food-grade inner liner — TPU membrane, PEVA film or food-grade coated liner, chosen by product class. Packed with a frozen cold source and kept out of direct sun, SL-E1320 holds usable cold for up to 24 hours, enough for a full day out and an early start the next morning. Insulation thickness is the lever that moves that number, and it is adjustable on OEM programmes at some cost to interior volume.

Hardware and Materials

The buckles are UTX and the zippers are YKK. That is worth stating plainly, because hardware is where cooler backpacks quietly fail: a generic side-release buckle cracks at the lugs after a season of UV, and an unbranded coil zipper on a 10 kg load starts separating behind the slider. The shell is a coated technical fabric with a subtle textured face, panelled khaki over black so the lower body — the part that meets sand, gravel and boat decks — takes the abrasion. Seams are bound and sewn with reinforced bar-tacks at every load point: strap anchors, handle roots and buckle webbing. Sealock is best known for high-frequency welding, but sewn construction is an equally professional in-house capability on dedicated lines, and on a panelled, harness-equipped cooler like this one it is the correct process.

Printing & Logo Options

Brand it your way: silk-screen, heat-transfer, digital and UV printing, embossed or debossed logos, woven labels and rubber or welded patch logos. The flat khaki front and the black lower panel both take large artwork cleanly; confirm placement against the side zipper and the harness anchors at sample stage so nothing critical sits on a seam.

Where It Is Used

A hands-free cooler for days that start with a walk:

Camping · Beach Trips · Fishing · Hiking and Trailhead Picnics · Boating · Tailgating · Festivals and Events · Commuting with Meals · Grocery Runs · Work Site Lunches

How We Make and Test It

SL-E1320 is cut from coated shell fabric, closed-cell EPE and the food-grade liner, then assembled on our sewing lines: panels joined and bound, the liner set, the YKK side zipper and flap closure installed, the UTX hardware, grab handles, reflective trim and the padded harness fitted with reinforced bar-tacks at every load anchor. Incoming fabric, foam, liner, zippers, webbing and buckles pass IQC; stitch density, bar-tack placement and zipper installation are checked at intervals through the run under IPQC; and every batch clears OQC before packing. The standing test suite covers load testing to 1,500-plus cycles, zipper fatigue to 3,000 cycles, tensile and bonding strength, salt spray on hardware, abrasion, colour fastness and colour difference, plus a heavy rain and water-jet test appropriate to this model's water-resistant, non-submersible rating. Cold-hold is logged on a multi-channel thermocouple rig with probes at the base, the mid-wall and under the closure, so the curve shows where cold is actually lost rather than a single convenient reading. Customer-witnessed inspection and third-party inspection through SGS or QIMA are available on request.

OEM / ODM and Full Custom Development

Sealock builds the SL-E1320 for OEM and ODM cooler and outdoor brands from an MOQ of 300 pcs, FOB Guangdong, with samples in 7–15 days and production in 30–45 days. Shell fabric and colourway, insulation thickness and therefore the ice-retention target, liner specification, zipper and buckle grade, harness configuration, pocket layout and logo application are all open. Where a programme needs a sealed, leakproof cooler rather than a water-resistant one, we build that platform too — welded body, welded food-grade liner and an airtight zipper — and the harness and panel design here can carry across to it. Ground-up development from a sketch or a target spec is available with additional lead time for pattern and sampling. Production runs across our Guangdong facilities and our Ho Chi Minh City plant, giving buyers a choice of origin for tariff planning.

FAQ

How much does it actually hold?

About 30 litres — roughly 30 standard cans with a working ice layer, or a two-person weekend of food. The square body means that volume is usable, rather than lost to a tapered base.

Is it waterproof?

It is water-resistant: the coated shell sheds rain and spray, and the liner holds condensation and light melt-water inside. It is not a sealed or submersible cooler. For leakproof service, specify the welded platform with an airtight zipper.

How long does it keep ice?

Up to 24 hours with the bag pre-chilled, a generous ice ratio and shade. Block ice outlasts cubes, and every opening costs time — the flap-and-buckle top exists so the main compartment is not unsealed for every small item.

Is the hardware branded?

Yes: UTX buckles and YKK zippers as standard. Buyers who have been burned by unbranded hardware on cooler backpacks usually ask this first, and it is specified on the bill of materials rather than left to the line.

What are the MOQ and lead times?

MOQ is 300 pcs, FOB Guangdong, samples in 7–15 days and production in 30–45 days. Logo customization is standard and custom colourways are available. Send your spec for a quote.
